Following the results of a pre-investigation check taken on the bases of information published in Rossiyskaya Gazeta of 21 August 2012 telling about doctors of the regional hospital for war veterans refusing to render medical help to a veteran of the Great Patriotic War Tatyana Platonova, 86, from Lytkarino near Moscow, Moscow Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have initiated a criminal case over signs of crimes under article 293 (negligence) and 125 of the Russian Federation Criminal Code (abandoning to danger).

At present search and investigation operations are under way to find out all the circumstances of the incident. In the framework of the criminal case a legal evaluation will be given to the actions of the doctors who refused further treatment to the woman and the leadership of the hospital as well.

The investigation is under control of the SK Central Office.
