In Leningrad Region charges were brought against two more involved in the case over murder of Rector of Saint-Petersburg University of Service and Economics

The Leningrad Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case over murder of Alexander Biktorov, Rector of Saint-Petersburg University of Service and Economics.

As it was reported earlier, three suspects of killing Alexander Viktorov, Rector of Saint-Petersburg University of Service and Economics were held during the investigative and search operations. Under the petition of the investigators they were put into custody.

On 4 October 2012, one of them Vitaly Kovalyov was charged with crimes under paragraphs “g” and “h” of part 2 of article 105 (murder committed by a group of persons on hire) and part 1 of article 222 of the RF Criminal Code (illegal purchase, storage and transfer of firearms).

Two others – Andrey Yeliseyev and Vyacheslav Makarov are charged with murder on hire (paragraphs “g” and “h” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code). Yeliseyev is also charged with illegal handling of firearms (part 1 of article 222).

At present investigators are establishing other accomplices, including a contractor. Investigation is to be continued.
