In Yaroslavl Region an employee of regional investigations directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee suspected of violating traffic regulations entailing by negligence death of a person

The Yaroslavl Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched criminal proceedings against an employee of the regional investigations directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee suspected of a crime under part 3 of article 264 of the RF Criminal Code (violation of the rules for traffic safety entailing by negligence the death of a person).

According to investigators, in the evening of 7 October 2012, the suspect was driving a VAZ-21101 car on a federal highway Kholmogory to the direction of the city of Rostov. He was moving breaking the speed limit and did not provided the necessary distance before a VAZ-21093 car moving ahead of him with a 56-year-old resident of the region at the wheel. He failed to brake in time and collided with the said car killing the driver of VAZ-21093.

The suspect was fired from law enforcement bodies. At present he is in the hospital with numerous fractures. After his discharge the investigators will decide on the pre-trial restraining measure equal to the severity of the crime.

The Investigative Committee has always been quickly and toughly reacting to breaking the law by its employees independent of ranks, positions and previous merits. And the fact that the suspect worked in law enforcement will by no means help him to avoid lawful punishment. The investigation of the criminal case is taken under control by leadership of the Investigative Committee.
