Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee launched criminal proceedings against former magistrate in Barnaul suspected of official forgery

Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched criminal proceedings against a former magistrate in Barnaul. He is suspected of a crime under part 1 of article 292 of the RF Criminal Code (official forgery).

According to investigators, in April 2009, one of Magistrates Courts in Barnaul received materials stating that a local citizen had committed an administrative misdemeanor (non-fulfilling a requirement by a driver to take an alcohol test). Acting in the interests of the said citizen the Magistrate illegally ruled to dismiss the case and later forged minutes of sessions into which she put false information. The investigation was operatively supported by officers of the Altai Territory Directorate of the Federal Security Service.

Investigation is going to find out all the circumstances of the incident. At present a number of operations are underway to collect and consolidate evidence. Investigation is to be continued.
