Republic of Tatarstan investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case over a terrorist attack, attempted murder of mufti of the Muslim Religious office of the Tatarstan Republic and murder of his Deputy

During organized search and investigating operations carried out by investigators of the Tatarstan Investigations Directorate and officers of Tatarstan Directorates of the Federal State Security Service and Ministry of Internal Affairs they have established whereabouts of the suspects. During the attempt by forces of special unit of Federal Security Service Directorate to apprehend the suspects, the latter offered resistance and set off an explosive device, presumably a grenade. The explosion killed one of Security Service officers. After that the law enforcement forces decided to storm the apartment on the first floor of a house in Khimikov Street in Kazan, with the suspects inside. During the storm the criminals were killed.

Sappers are currently working in the apartment to ensure safe work of an investigating group at the crime scene.
