Two citizens of Azerbaijan to stand trial in Perm Territory for 2010 murder on hire of chief architect of Solikamsk

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in Perm Territory have finished investigating a criminal case against two citizens of Azerbaijan charged with the crime under paragraph “h” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder for hire).

According to investigators, in early 2010, an unidentified person offered 46-year-old and 27-year-old citizens of Azerbaijzn, who lived in the city of Perm, to kill the chief architect of the town of Solikamsk in connection with her professional activity. The men agreed and started preparing for the murder. They found where the official lived, her main routes of moving about the town and her daily schedule, chose the most convenient place for the crime and prepared the weapon. In the morning of 18 March 2010, when the woman left her flat to go to work, on the stairwell one of the men shot her with caseshot. As a result of her wounds the victim died on the spot and the accused fled the city.

It was especially hard to investigate this murder as it was carefully plotted, prepared and committed under uncertain conditions. A long time passed since the crime and the accused had taken steps to conceal it. The crime was solved as a result of meticulous investigating and operational work carried out by the investigators of the regional investigations directorate in close cooperation with the operational agents of the Main Office of the Russian Interior Ministry in Volga Federal District. There are 15 volumes in the criminal case.

The investigations have gathered enough evidence and the case with the approved indictment has been forwarded to court to be tried on the merits. The criminal case against the contractor of the murder has been severed into a separate law suit.
