The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in Ulyanovsk Region have launched a check into mass hospitalization of children in the town of Inza.

It has been preliminarily found that on 20 November 2013, over 30 children – from babies to teenagers – were taken to Central Inza district hospital. Two of the children are in grave condition. It is reported that the reason was rotavirus.

At present investigators are carrying out urgent investigating operations and checks. In the first place they have taken samples of water for analyses. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
