In Astrakhan criminal case opened against passenger of Moscow-Goa flight for using force and public offence of police officer

The investigating bodies of the Southern Transport Investigation Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation against a 25-year-old passenger of flight Moscow (Sheremetyevo) – Goa (India). He is suspected of crimes under part 1 of article 318 and article 319 of the RF Penal Code (use of force and offence of a representative of the authority).

According to investigators, on 17 March 2014, around 08:40 PM, a passenger of flight No 1563 Moscow (Sheremetyevo) – Goa (India) committed an administrative infraction under part 1 of article 20.1 of the RF Administrative Violations Code (disorderly conduct) and at 09:56 PM the plane made a forced landing in the city of Astrakhan.

After the police delivered the young man to an ambulance room at the airport in Astrakhan, he offended the police officers in presence of other people using obscene worlds. Moreover, the young man used violence, not dangerous for life or health, kicking the officers several times.

Investigation is ongoing.

The district city court has found the passenger guilty of the administrative infraction under part 1 of article 20.1 of the RF Administrative Violations Code and sentenced him to 10-day administrative arrest.
