Investigators petition about prolonging arrest time for those under investigation of Bulgaria case

The Tatarstan Republic investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have petitioned on prolonging arrest until 10 March 2013 for the accuse in the criminal case over Bulgaria cruise ship wreck Svetlana Inyakina, Yakov Ivashov, irek Temirgazeyev and Vladislav Semyonov.

We remind that there are 5 people prosecuted in this case. This is captain’s mate Ramil Khametov, sublessee of the Bulgaria Inyakina, expert of Russian River Register Yakov Ivashov and two employees of Federal Service for Transport Supervision Vladislav Semyonov and Irek Timergazeyev. Depending on the role of each one, they are charged with crimes under articles 238, 263, 143, 285, of the RF Criminal Code (rendering services which do not meet standards of safety to lives or health of consumers, violation of rules for operating inner water transport, violation of labor protection rules and abuse of official powers).

According to investigators cumulative actions of the accused caused the Bulgaria cruise ship to sink on 10 July 2011 in Kuybyshevsky reservoir killing 122 people aboard the vessel.

Earlier the time of investigation had been extended up to 10 March 2013.

At present the accused, except for Timergazeyev, have finished reading the files of the criminal case. The court established the time for Timergazeyev to read the files up to 25 January 2013.
