Men suspected of killing the judge Magomed Magomedov established in Dagestan

The Republic of Dagestan investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigating Committee continue investigating a criminal case over signs of crimes under article 295 of the RF Criminal Code and part 1 of article 222 – encroachment on judge of Supreme Court of Dagestan Magomed Magomedov and illegal handling of firearms.

According to investigators, on 15 January 2013, around 9 p.m. near building N 45 in Maxim Gorky Street in Makhachkala an unknown person shot no less than 5 times at Magomedov, born in 1957, who was approaching his BMW parked near the said building. The judge was killed on the spot.

To solve the crime an investigating group of experienced investigators from the North Caucasian Federal District Main Investigations Directorate, criminal investigators of the Central Office and operative agents of regional offices of the Interior Ministry and Federal Security Service of Russia.

During investigating and search operations the persons involved in the crime were established. Investigators believe that they also are involved in other crimes. In the near future they will decide on filing the cases into a single law suit.

A number of examinations have been arranged, including a commission medical one, medical forensic, trasological, ballistic and DNA.

Due to the fact that the whereabouts of the suspects are not known they are put on the federal wanted list. Investigation is to be continued.
