Leonid Gozman questioned in Investigative Committee

Today the Main Investigations Committee as part of investigating a case over stealing of money from the political party Union of Right Forces (part 4 of article 159 of the RF Criminal Code) has questioned as a witness Leonid Gozman, the president of Russian public movement Union of Right Forces.

As it was earlier reported in April 2007 the political party Union of Right Forces and the company Allekt had signed an agreement on advertising services. Under the agreement, the Union of Right Forces had transferred to the settlement account of Allekt a total of about 100 million rubles. In its turn the company Allekt headed by Navalny had transferred the money to the accounts of firms most of which had signs of sham companies or phony companies. Moreover there had been no documents confirming execution of the agreement.

Earlier investigators have questioned as a witness the Kirov Region Governor Nikita Belyck. Boris Nemtsov, the co-chairman of the political party Republican Party of Russia – Party of Peoples Freedom, member of bureau of federal political council of united democratic movement Solidarity, who in 2008 were in leadership of the political party Union of Right Forces, is summoned for the questioning on 5 February. Investigation is to be continued.
