In Moscow Region, check underway in leopard attack on people during circus show

The Moscow Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee are carrying out a pre-investigating check into the attack of a leopard on spectators during a circus show.

According to preliminary reports, on 3 May 2014, a collar of the leopard tore when it was jumping and it suddenly attacked spectators sitting next to the arena during a show in a circus tent in the ice palace in Podolsk. A 3-year-old girl and her mother got scratches.

At present the investigators are looking into the circumstances of the incident. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
