An explosion happened today at about 07:30 PM, in the town of Iskitim, Novosibirsk Region at the Novosibirsk Rayon Plant killing three workers. The Novosibirsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a pre-investigating check into the incident.

In has been initially established that the explosion happened due to mixing of combustible mixtures in shop No 8 with 12 workers inside. The building collapsed killing 3 people, bodies of two of them have been recovered from under the debris. Other 9 workers survived.

At present rescuers and firefighters of the Russian Emergencies Ministry are removing the rubble and putting out the fire. The investigators are questioning the eyewitnesses from the plant staff. After the scene is secure for investigation, they start examination immediately.

A procedural decision will be made following the check.
