In Moscow Alexander Yemelianenko arrested at motion of investigators

Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case against athlete Alexander Yemelianenko. He is charged with a sexual abuse and stealing of a passport (part 1 of article 132 and part 2 of article 325 of the RF Penal Code).

Today a court has satisfied a motion of the investigators and ruled to remand Yemelianenko in custody pending trial. Investigation is ongoing.

It has been reported earlier that according to investigators at night of 3 March 2014, in a flat in Peresvetovoy pereulok in Moscow Ymelianenko attacked and sexually abused a housekeeper. After that he stole the woman’s passport from her handbag. On 9 May 2014, Yemelianenko had a road traffic accident, after which he was transported in Moscow by law enforcement agents and was arrested by an investigator of the Russia’s Investigative Committee as the procedure goes. As of the present moment, he has been questioned and charged.
