In St. Petersburg Polina Strongina charged in Bolotnaya case

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case opened over organization, participation and calls for mass riots and use of force against representatives of authority on May 6, 2012 on Bolotnaya Squarein Moscow, as well as preparing to organize mass riots in the Russian Federation.

During the probe investigators have identified another participant of the mass riots, it is Polina Strongina from Saint-Petersburg.

Today a set of investigating operations has been carried out on Polina Strongina in Saint-Petersburg by investigators of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in conjunction with officials of the E Center of Moscow Interior Ministry and officials of E Center of Saint-Petersburg and Leningrad Region Main Office of the Russian Interior Ministry. Her residence was searched and investigators confiscated objects vital for the investigation. Strongina was recognized by an eye-witness of her committing the crime.

In addition, Strongina is charged with a crime under part 2 of article 212 of the RF Penal Code (participation in mass riots). During the questioning the accused admitted her guilt in part – she recognized the fact that she had committed wrongdoings on Bolotnaya Square. Strongina was released in recognizance.

The investigators are going to identify and hold accountable absolutely all organizers, participants of the mass riots and persons who used force against representatives of authority on May 6 on Bolotnaya Square in Moscow, therefore the investigating and search operations are continued.
