Criminal case over deputy of Lipetsk city council Mikhail Pakhomov sent for further investigation into Central Federal District Investigations Directorate

Lipetsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have forwarded a criminal case over kidnapping and murder of deputy of Lipetsk city council Mikhail Pakhomov to Central Federal District Investigations Directorate.

During the investigation it has been found that Pakhomov was kidnapped in Lipetsk on 11 February 2013. Later his body with signs of violent death was found in a barrel filled with cement in a garage basement of the garage cooperative Rassvet in the village of Vorovsky of Noginsky district, Moscow Region. Two contractors and four perpetrators were charged with a crime under paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 126 of the RF Criminal Code (kidnapping), three more detainees – with a crime under paragraph “c” of part 3 of article 158 (stealing). The detainees are kept in custody as a pretrial restraining measure.

Investigating operations in Lipetsk Region are finished if full. An investigation group of Lipetsk Region Investigations Directorate has performed all initial investigating operations: examinations, searches, interrogations of witnesses, on-site checks of testimonies with the accused.

Considering wide public resonance of this criminal investigation and necessity of considerable number of investigating operations in the territories of several subjects in Central Federal District, the senior officials of the Investigative Committee have decided to give the case for further investigation to Central Federal District Investigations Directorate.
