In Moscow investigation against one of the accused in stealing money from Yelena Denisova and Tatiana Balzamova finished

Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case into stealing from Yelena Denisova and a businesswoman Tatiana Balzamova funds on an especially large scale and an attempted murder of Balzamova committed by an organized group. A group of people including Sultan Sigauri are suspects in the case. Sigauri is charged with a crime under part 3 of article 30, part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (attempted murder).

According to investigators, in March 2011, in Moscow some people who had stolen money from Balzamova hired Sigauri. To conceal the stealing Sigauri organized her murder which was planned to be carried out in Ukraine. For that Sigauri personally hired a hitman – Ivan Martynov. On 12 June 2011, near 20th km of Kiev-Chernigov motorway Martynov attacked Balzamova with a submachine gun Scorpion S 1909. The gun misfired and the killer failed to complete his criminal intentions.

On 15 June 2011, Martynov was apprehended in Ukraine, prosecuted by Ukrainian law enforcement and convicted of the crime.

The criminal case against Sigauri was severed into a separate lawsuit and presently he and his lawyer are studying the files.

In addition, investigation against other members of the criminal group continues including Mikhail Koryak and Valid Lurakhmayev who are internationally wanted.
