One accused of killing deputy Mikhail Makhomov

The Central Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case over abduction and murder of Lipetsk Duma deputy Mikhail Pakhomov. Earlier the charges of a crime under paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 126 of the RF Criminal Code were brought against deputy minister for housing and communal cervices of Moscow Region Government Yevgeny Kharitonov, Sergey Krasovsky, Yevgeny Zabrodin, Alexey Zabrodin, Dmitry Yermakov, Armen Ter-Minasyan. Investigators have also charged Dmitry Stolyarchuk.

According to investigators, Kharitonov and Krasovsky ordered abduction of Mikhail Pakhomov to extort some money from him. They charged Yevgeny Zabrodin to organize the crime and he involved his relative Alexey and acquaintances Yermakov, Ter-Minasyan and Stolyarchuk. Together they since autumn 2012 watched Pakhomov. About 11 pm, 11 February 2013, the Zabrodins, Yermakov, Ter-Minasyan and Stolyarchuk in Mitsubishi Pajero and VAZ 21102 arrived in Lipetsk. The found Pakhomov’s Ford Focus parked near the restaurant Marengo. In their two cars they waited when the deputy left the restaurant. Stolyarchuk parked his car near the Pakhomov’s to be able to block it. On 12 February 2013, around 12:20 am, Alexey Zabrodin, Ter-Minasyan and Yermakov attacked Pakhomov, beat him up and put in the Mitsubishi Pajero. Stolyarchuk was in the VAZ car and watched the situation to warn his accomplices in case of danger. He knew the city well and showed them a short and safe way from Lipetsk. Pakhomov resisted the attackers and got out of the car, but the kidnappers caught him quickly, beat him up and returned in the car. In the car they shot him three times point-blank from a non-lethal pistol Horhe. To hide the traces the accused cemented the body in a metallic barrel, where it was found on 17 February 2013 at the garage cooperative Rassvet in Noginsky district, Moscow Region.

At present a comprehensive forensic medical expert examination to find the exact cause of death is underway. Based on the results of the examination the investigators will decide on qualification of actions by the accused connected with the death of the victim.

On the investigators’ request the court ruled to place all the accused into custody as a pretrial restraining measure. Investigation is ongoing.
