Investigating operations to start soon involving organizer of BORN gang

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case against members of the gang and extremist organization Militant Organization of Russian Nationalists (BORN). It has been reported earlier that investigators ruled to prosecute Ilya Goryachev as the accused of crimes under part 1 of article 282.1, part 1 of article 209, paragraphs “a”, “g”, “h” and “i” of part 2 of article 105, part 3 of article 222 of the RF Penal Code (organization of an extremist community, creating a gang, murder, illegal circulation of firearms). He was internationally wanted and arrested in absentia. In addition, the investigators have confirmed to the Interpol their intentions to demand Goryachev’s deportation to the Russian Federation in case he is detained in other country.

The investigators charge Goryachev as a member of the abovementioned gang and organization with murders of lawyer Stanislav Markelov, the leaders of the so called anti-fascist movements Fyodor Filatov and Ilya Dzhaparidze, as well as citizens Ruslan Khalilov and Salakhedin Azizov. The crimes were committed on the motives of ideological, national hatred and enmity. Namely, after the murder of Azizov, BORN members cut off his head and threw it in the board of one of districts in Moscow with a note demanding the authorities to change migration policy.

It should be noted that during the probe Goryachev’s involvement in the murder of judge Eduard Chuvashov has not been confirmed, however the investigators have found that other members of his organization had a hand in the crime.

The Russian Federal Security Service is providing operational support in this investigation.

In the near future Goryachev is going to be extradited in the Russian Federation. After that the investigators will start investigating operations in his presence.
