Investigators carry on looking at circumstances of plane crash in Kazan

The investigating bodies of Volga Region Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case into signs of a crime under part 3 of article 263 of the RF Penal Code (violation of safety standards for traffic and operation of air transport entailing by negligence death of two or more people) over the Boeing-737 plane crash in Kazan.

At present investigators are gathering information to find about all the circumstances of the air crash and assign technical expert examination which will give final answer as to the reasons for the crash.

Today they together with specialists of the Interstate Aviation Committee continue examination of the crash scene. One of the tasks is to find the contents of the speech recorder whose container was found yesterday.

The results of four of DNA tests have been received and the remains of four of the victims have been identified.

The documents are still being confiscated from Tatarstan Airlines. The investigators are questioning the senior officials of the airlines and personnel, responsible for training of pilots and medical personnel. The records of CCTV cameras and conversations of pilots and dispatchers are being studied. The contents of the conversation were absolutely standard until the pilot reported that the attitude had been inappropriate for landing, that is that the vector of plane trajectory did not correspond to the butt of the runway and that it had been going to make a second lap. The pilot’s last word before the crash was the “lap”, which he said after the dispatcher had given the command to ascend to 500 meters and to work with the lap on a certain frequency for a second attempt to land.

Investigation is ongoing.
