Investigation against Said Amirov and Yusup Dzhaparov finished

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has finished investigating a criminal case against mayor of Makhachkala Said Amirov and deputy mayor of Kaspiysk Yusup Dzhaparov. They are charged with crimes under part 1 of article 30, paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 205 of the RF Penal Code (plotting a terrorist attack). In addition, Amirov is also accused of part 3 of article 33, part 2 of article 222 (organization of illegal circulation of firearms), Dzhaparov – of part 5 of article 33, part 2 of article 222 (complicity in illegal circulation of firearms committed by an organized group in conspiracy).

Investigators believe that the accused were getting ready to kill a statesman in order to lobby authorities in Dagestan. As an instrument of crime they were going to use an illegally purchased man-portable missile Strela-2M. The missile was found and seized by investigators in the cache in one of the districts in the Republic of Dagestan.

In the near future the accused and their lawyers will start reading the files of the case in accordance with article 217 of the RF Criminal Procedure Code.

Investigation against former assistant to prosecutor of Khasavyurt and other persons is ongoing.
