In Mordovia check launched in poisoning of children in Saransk school reported by media

On 20 may 2014, a news agency posted on its site a report that a teacher and 70 students had had a food poisoning at school No 30 in Saransk. The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in the Republic of Mordovia have launched a pre-investigating check into the incident.

According to initial information, the children, information of whom were passed to the territorial office of the Federal Citizens Welfare Supervision Service, were diagnosed with enteric infection of unclear aetiology. According to media reports 12 children were taken to hospitals, the rest are receiving outpatient treatment.

Check is underway to find out all the circumstances of the incident. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
