The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area-Yugra have launched a criminal investigation against CEO of OAO Khanty-Mansi Construction Department, who is also a deputy of Khanty-Mansiysk City Duma for a crime under article 199.2 of the RF Penal Code (hiding funds of organization meant for paying taxes and duties).

According to investigators the tax debt of the company to the budget stands at about 16 million rubles. The tax bodies to recover those debts sent notices addressed to the CEO and decided to suspend taxpayer’s account operations. However, the CEO ignored the notices and transferred the funds, which could have been used to pay the debts, to accounts of subcontractors in order to avoid paying taxes.

At present investigating operations are under way to find out all the circumstances of the crime.
