Two orphanage inmates from Pionersky village, Mazanovsky District, Amur Region sentenced for torturing minors

The court found the evidence gathered by the Amur Region investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation sufficient to convict two former inmates of the boarding school of the village of Pionersky, Mazanovsky District, Amur Region. They have been found guilty of committing crimes under Paragraphs "a", "d", "e", "f" of Part 2 of Article 117 of the RF Criminal Code (torture committed against two or more persons, known minors, committed by a group of persons).

Investigators and the court found that from March to May 2013, two orphanage inmates aged 16 and 17 years systematically abused 7-9 -year-old inmates of physically, beat them and hit them with a belt on the buttocks and other body parts in the premises of the state educational institution for orphaned children left without parental care, the boarding school № 5 in the village of Pionersky, Mazanovsky District. Thus, the accused tried to get the younger children to keep regular hours. Beatings were filmed on a mobile phone of one of the girls. Subsequently, the video was posted on the Internet.

The court sentenced one of the convicts to 1.5-year probation, and the second to 160 hours of compulsory work.
