In Krasnodar Territory criminal case opened in murder of Great Patriotic War veteran

On 2 October 2014, law enforcement bodies got a report that three unidentified men had broken into a house of an 87-year-old resident of the village of Yelizavetinskaya in the city of Krasnodar and killed him. The Krasnodar Territory investigating bodies have launched a criminal investigation in crimes under paragraphs “g” and “h” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (robbery-related murder committed by a group of people in a previous concert) and paragraph “c” of part 4 of article 164 (robbery with infliction of grievous bodily harm to the victim).

Investigators have found out that the elderly man lived with his daughter. Early in the morning of 2 October 2014, three men wearing balaclavas got into the man’s house through a window. The robbers tied up the man and his daughter and put a piece of elastic bandage in the man’s mouth. After that they demanded to give them all the money they had in the house. The culprits took 100 thousand rubles and fled. The victims managed to untie themselves and call the police, but the elderly man died as a result of the attack. According to preliminary information, the man died of asphyxia.

Investigations in crimes committed against socially unprotected categories of citizens, especially veterans of the Great Patriotic War, have always been under a special control of the Investigative Committee senior officers. The investigators of the regional directorate will take every measure to solve this brutal crime as soon as possible and identify all the persons involved in the murder of the veteran.
