In Moscow criminal investigation launched in violation of rights of invalid

Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a check of information spread in mass media about violation of housing rights of a wheel-chair bound invalid Aleksey Alyoshin. Following the check criminal investigation has been launched in a crime under part 1 of article 293 of the RF Penal Code (negligence).

According to investigators, the victim has been registered in the housing list since 2006 and has right on a prioritized improvement of living conditions considering the benefits provided for wheel-chair bound invalids. However, in 2013, the department for housing policy and housing fund of Moscow ordered to exclude Alyoshin from the list.

At present the man lives in a flat provided to him for a certain period of time under a contract of free use. The investigators believe that the department for housing policy and housing fund of Moscow had no lawful reason to exclude Alyoshin from the list of those in need of residence.

At present investigating operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime. Under the current laws the investigators will help the invalid to restore his rights for better housing conditions.
