On 21 October 2014, one of federal TV channels showed a story that a boy had got herpetic meningoencephalitis diagnosed after vaccination made in 2009 by medical staff of Lotoshino district hospital in Moscow Region.

Based on that information, the Moscow Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have immediately launched a pre-investigative check.

By now investigators have got explanations from the boy’s father and requested for necessary medical documents. During the check legal assessment will be made of actions of the doctors and other people that might have been involved in the situation threatening the child’s health. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
