The Irkutsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case over murder of an 8-year-old girl in Nizhneudinsk District (paragraph “c” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code).

A suspect of brutal murder of the missing girl in the village of Shumskoye, Nizhneudinsk District has been detained thanks to coherent work of investigators of regional Investigative Committee and officials of crime detection department. It is a former criminal, convicted of a very serious crime, 30-year–old man from a Far East region. It has been revealed that during several days the accused was in Nizhneudinsk District. A day before, an investigating team detained him in Krasnoyarsk Territory.

According to investigators, in early October 2014, the man lured the girl to the woods and sexually abused her. To conceal the traces he killed her and hid the body. The girl’s body was found a few days ago in the woods several kilometers from the village of Shumskoye.

At present the man is being questioned. Custodial restraint is expected.

The investigators are going to take measures to find out causes and conditions contributing to the crime.
