Charges brought against all detained in mass brawl in Mineralnye Vody hospital

The Stavropol Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case over mass brawl at a hospital in the town of Mineralnye Vody as a crime under part 2 of article 213 of the RF Penal Code (hooliganism) and paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 111 (deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm).

According to investigators in the evening of 20 September 2014, several men got drunk and fought in Yevgenia café in the town of Mineralnye Vody. During the fight two suspects Andranik Tsakanyan and Yevgeny Smirnov hit one of the men on his head with a bottle by turn. The injured young man Roman Savechenko and his friends Anatoly Larionov and Ruslan Abdulzhalilov went to a hospital for help. Sometime later Tsakanyan also headed for the hospital and broke into it with a group of about 30 people. In the corridor they brutally beat Anatoly Larionov and injured Ruslan Abdulzhalilov and a nurse Nina Stanka.

By now, the investigators have done a lot of work – more than 200 investigative and other procedural operations in order to find out the circumstances of the crimes, identify all the parties of the conflict, roles and degrees of participation of each of them. The taken measures helped to identify all 33 suspects in the shortest possible time, 26 of them were detained and placed in custody. The rest seven escaped and are wanted. The investigators are taking measures to hold them and bring in for questioning. It should be noted that no one of the defendants has anything to do with any of law enforcement bodies.

As of today the investigators have pressed charges against all 26 defendants in custody. The most active of them, who had taken part in beating Anatoly Larionov, who then died, - Andranik Tsakanyan, Samvel Manucharyan, Arman Akhumyan were charged with crimes under paragraphs “g” and “i” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder) and part 2 of article 213 (hooliganism). The rest of them, who had broken into the hospital and beat Ruslan Abdulzhalilov and nurse Nina Stanka were charged of a crime under part 2 of article 213 (hooliganism).

The investigators are taking all possible measures to bring to justice all the people involved in that conspicuous and brutal crime. The investigation is ongoing.
