In Ryazan Region criminal case opened over disappearance of child

The Ryazan Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation into a crime under paragraph “c” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder) after disappearance of a girl born in 2006.

According to investigators, since 2013 the girl, her mother, sister and step father have been registered and living in the village of Verki, Kadom District. But in 2014, nobody of village residents or social workers has seen the girl. She has not gone to either medical facilities or school. When police officers asked mother and step-father, they explained that the girl had always lived and went to school in another village with her grandmothers. However, the check showed that the child had not been present at the addresses named by the parents. Moreover, after the police had started to take interest in the girl her parents left their house and disappeared.

Investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the girl’s disappearance. Investigating and search operations are underway including in neighboring regions. The searches are involving officers of the Ryazan Region Office of Russian Ministry of Interior, locals and volunteers.
