Krasnoyarsk Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation in drowning of an 11-year-old boy in a swimming pool (part 1 of article 109 of the RF Penal Code – reckless homicide).

According to investigators, on 8 November 2014, in the afternoon the boy and a friend of his came to Edelveys sports and health center without adults. When the boys were swimming in the pool one of them started to drown. There were no instructors or lifeguards around. The clients tried to save the boy, but failed.

At present the investigators have request all organizational and legal documents of Edelveys center and questioned the witnesses. During the probe the investigators are going to give legal assessment to actions of the swimming pool staff, who failed to provide a lifeguard. The investigation is ongoing.
