Today Bassmanny district court of the city of Moscow reviewed request of investigator of the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee and ruled to remand Head of Ivanovo Region Office of the Russian ministry of Interior Alexander Nikitin in custody pending trial. He is suspected of a crime under part 1 of article 285 of the RF Penal Code (abuse of office).

According to investigators Nikitin abused his office during construction of an administrative building of Ivanovo Region Office of the Russian Ministry of Interior by spending budgetary finds on replanning and better interiors of offices which was not provided by the contract. The suspect pursued false aims of raising his popularity.

The investigation is ongoing.
