In Irkutsk Region criminal investigation launched in negligence of officials who failed to provide security of children

The Irkutsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation in a crime under part 2 of article 293 of the RF Penal Code (negligence involving death of a person by negligence) after death of a teenager.

Today three teenagers have been reported missing. During the search operation two of the teenagers aged 16 and 14 were found and delivered to the intensive care in Alarsky Central District Hospital, the youngest boy was found dead in the woods.

According to investigators the three teenagers 16, 14 and 13 years of age could not wait a coach and went to the neighboring village on foot. On their way they got lost and decided to spend the night in the forest by pressing themselves tightly to each other. Next morning the 14-year-old boy woke up to find the older boy missing and the younger not breathing.

During the probe the investigators will check actions of the school staff, who neglected their duties and failed to see the teenagers go home by coach. In addition they are going to reveal all reasons and conditions that contributed to the incident and study documents to identify persons, who had failed to provide children’s security. The investigation is ongoing.
