In Tatarstan woman who abandoned her child in danger to stand trial

Tatarstan investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigating a criminal case against Natalya Manzhola charged with crimes under article 125 (abandoning in danger) and 156 of the RF Penal Code (failure to fulfill duty of raising an underage child).

According to investigators, on 3 January 2015, Manzhola left her 2-year-old son in an entrance hall of a block of flats in the city of Kazan. On 14 January 2015, the woman was detained. During an interrogation she confessed to the crime explaining that she had left her son because of hard life she had.

Manzhola pled guilty and a court ruled to place her in custody pending trial.

At present Manzhola has no custody on her boy. The investigative bodies have studied thoroughly the circumstances that contributed to the crime. During the probe they sent a request to the Ministry of the Interior following which two officials were disciplined.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, so the criminal case with the approved indictment will soon be sent to court to be tried on the merits.
