In Moscow investigation launched against police officer charged with taking bribes from funeral service organization

The investigating bodies of Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened a probe against senior operative duty officer of Southwestern Administrative District police department Alexander Streltsov and civilians: Irina Kaik, Vladimir Shagrov, Vasilisa Ivas. Depending on the role of each one they are charged with crimes under part 3 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (taking a bribe by an official – 4 counts), part 3 of article 291 (giving a bribe to an official). Yuri Isaichev is also suspected of giving a bribe to an official (part 3 of article 291).

According to investigators, Streltsov serving as a senior operative duty officer in the period between February and March 2015 conspired with employees of funeral service organizations: Irina Kaik, Vladimir Shagrov, Vasilisa Ivas and Yuri Isaichev. He had learnt that they were interested in getting information on death of people and the places they had been put in and started to provide them with that information so that they could run their business. This way he received from them 75 thousand rubles.

Streltsov, Kaik, Shagrov, Ivas were detained under article 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Isaichev is now at hospital.

At present investigative operations are underway to find out all the counts of the crime and identify the persons involved. The investigation is ongoing.
