Judge of commercial court of Krasnodar Territory to stand trial for bribery

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee based in the city of Rostov-on-Don has finished investigating a criminal case against judge of the Krasnodar Territory Commercial Court Sergey Rusov. He is charged with a crime under part 6 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (bribery).

According to investigators, Rusov, serving as a judge of the Krasnodar Territory Commercial Court while considering a case over exacting a penalty under a municipal contract, demanded and received from a representative of a legal entity 1 million rubles, which was a part of the bribe, while being in the court building in December 2012 and got the second part of 19 million rubles in January 2013. He took the bribe for taking a decision in the interest of the company. The judge’s wrongdoings were stopped by officials of the Federal Security Service.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence so the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
