Members of Aslan Gagiyev’s gang involved in killing man, whose body was found in barrel on bottom of channel in Moscow Region

North Caucasian Federal District Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case against members of Aslan Gagiyev’s gang, who have committed over 50 murders, attempts on lives of law-enforcement bodies and attempted murders in Moscow, Moscow Region and North Ossetia-Alania.

In April 2015, one of the gangsters pointed to a place in the Moscow Channel, where in the summer 2005, following Gagiyev’s order he together with other gangsters threw a barrel containing dead body of an unidentified man they had killed and submerged in concrete.

The identity of the killed is known only to Gagiyev, who was detained in January in Austria and is now waiting to be extradited to Russia.

Immediately after they got the information, the investigators of the North Caucasian Federal District Main Investigations Directorate involving officials of the Main Criminalistics Department organized search operations.

On 21 may 2015, the barrel the gangster told about was found on the bottom of the channel and was lifted on surface using special equipment. There was the dead body of an unidentified man inside which was immediately sent for forensic examinations.

At present investigative operations are underway to identify the victim.
