The Third Investigations Department (based in the city of Nizhny Novgorod) of the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has started an investigation against former prosecutor of the town of Engels, Saratov Region Vladimir Zubakin over frauds, abuse of power and bribery for actions that make up his duty committed by him during his office in 2012-2015.

Zubakin was detained on suspicion of 5 crimes under part 3 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code (fraud), 2 crimes under paragraph “c” of part 5 of article 290 (bribery) and a crime under part 1 of article 285 (abuse of power). Restraint is expected.
