Probe launched in bus crash injuring children in Khabarovsk Territory

The Khabarovsk Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened a criminal investigation in a crime under part 1 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code (unsafe services) following a traffic accident involving a bus and injuring children.

According to investigators, on 8 October 2015, a bus carrying 24 school children drove off from the road and rammed into a fence first and them into a tree in the village of Voronezhskoye-1, Khabarovsk District. According to preliminary data, the bus’s brakes failed. 8 children got bruises and cuts in the accident. In addition, another 3 children and their adult companion were taken to hospital. The bus was transporting the school children from the village of Vostochnoye to the zoo located near the village of Voronezhskoye-1.

At present, there are investigators, criminalists of the territorial investigations directorate and the police working at the scene. They are looking into what exactly happened. The investigation is ongoing.
