Probe launched in Perm Territory in death of six including three children in fire

At night of 14 October 2015, a fire happened in a single-family house in the village of Otopkovo, Kochovo District, Perm Territory. While putting out the fire, firefighters found dead bodies of a child and three adults. Following a check the Perm Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee opened an investigation in a crime under part 3 of article 109 of the RF Penal Code (reckless homicide of two or more people).

According to investigators, at night of 14 October 2015, a fire started in a single-family house in the village of Otopkovo, where a 68-year-old woman, her 32-year-old son, his 35-year-old wife and their children aged 4, 6 and 10. Dead bodies of all of them were found at the fire scene. No traces of violent death were found on the bodies. The family was no on the list in any control authority.

At the present time the investigators and experts continue examining the fire scene. No traces of arson have been found so far. The investigators are considering two versions of the causes for the fire: careless handling of fire resulted from smoking or electric wiring failure. Necessary forensic tests are being run. The investigative operations are ongoing to find out what exactly happened.
