Former head of Tansneft-Baltika branch to stand trial in Yaroslavl Region for fraud

The Yaroslavl Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished an investigation against the 38-year old former head of the Transneft-Baltika company branch accused of a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code (fraud).

The crime was revealed during well-planned investigative and search operations conducted by officers of Saint-Petersburg and Leningrad Region Office of the Federal Security Service.

According to investigators, between 2013 and May 2015, the accused repeatedly took bribes from the CEO of Construction and Erection Department of NefteGaz for ensuring that they won tenders of Tansneft-Baltika, concluded contracts and received payment of 15% of the cost of each of the contract on time. In all, the perpetrator by deceit and abuse of trust stole from the businessman 4.7 million rubles.

The accused was released on recognizance.

The investigators have enough evidence, so the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
