Former deputy head of Orekhovo-Zuyevo District administration found guilty of grand bribery

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the investigating bodies of the Moscow Region Main Investigations Directorate sufficient to convict former deputy head of the administration of Orekhovo-Zuyevo District Anatoly Yevtishin and his middleman Mikhail Ovchinnikov. Depending on the role of each one they were found guilty of crimes under part 6 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (bribery on a very large scale) and part 4 of article 291.1 (mediation in bribery committed on a very large scale).

The investigators and court have revealed that in the morning of 12 April 2014, deputy head of administration received via a middleman acting in the interest of OOO Energoplan Intag a cash bribe of 1 million 925 thousand rubles for concluding a municipal contract on construction of sports and health complex in the town of Drezna, Moscow Region, with the said company.

The court has sentenced Yevtishin to a fine of 50 million rubles and Ovchinnikov to 6 million rubles.
