In Chelyabinsk Region, probe finished against former acting Minister of Social relations and company CEO charged with acts of corruption

The Chelyabinsk Region Office of the Investigative Committee has finished an investigation against former acting Minister of Social Relations Oleg Bekhterov charged with crimes under Part 4 of Article 160 of the RF Penal Code (embezzlement), Part 6 of Article 290 (taking a bribe) and CEO of a company Irina Kem – Part 5 of Article 33, Part 4 of Article 160 of the RF Penal Code (complicity in embezzlement), Part 5 of Article 291 (giving a bribe).

According to investigators, between December 2013 and February 2014, Bekhterov took a cash bribe of 5 million rubles from the CEO of a company for the conclusion of governmental contracts at overstated prices and without any tender. The operative support during the investigation was provided by the agents of the Chelyabinsk Region Office of the Federal Security Service and the Ministry of the Interior.

The investigators have done a lot of work: they questioned 115 witnesses, ran 12 inquires: merchandizing, accounting, handwriting ones and others. The investigator submitted a request to the Chelyabinsk Region Minister of Social Relations to eliminate the reasons and conditions that had contributed to the crime.

The investigators have enough evidence, so the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court.
