The Far Eastern Transport Investigations Office of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings into a crime under Part 2 of Article 263 of the RF Penal Code (violation of safety standards for the traffic and operation of an aircraft entailing death of a person by negligence) after a YeS-30 helicopter hard landed in Maritime Territory.

According to investigators, on 2 April 2016, the helicopter owned by the Maritime aviation sports club flew from Ozyornye Klyuchi to Bezverkhovo and back to Ozyornye Klyuchi. At 04:13 PM, the planned landing time in Ozyornye Klyuchi, the pilot failed to get into contact. The distress beaker went off somewhere near the settlement of Tavrichanka, Nadezhdinskoye District, Maritime Territory. The pilot was alone aboard the helicopter and was killed on impact.

At present a set of investigative operations are underway to find out all the details of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
