In Komi, probe finished against former official of town district administration charged with abuse of office

The Komi Republic Office of the Investigative Committee has finished investigating a case against former head of the Capital Construction Office of the Ukhta town administration charged with abuse of authority (Part 1 of Article 286 of the RF Penal Code).

According to investigators, in September 2008, the Capital Construction Office and OOO Stroikomlekt concluded an over 150 million rubles worth municipal contract on the construction of a day-care center. In December 2011, the accused signed the documents on acceptance of the work done aware that some of the work at the site had not been done or had been fulfilled with violations of the design documents. Later, the accused still aware that some of the construction works had not been done completely, signed the acceptance certificates, based on which the building was permitted to be put into operation.

The officials of the Capital Construction Office of the administration, the director and chief accountant of the contractor have been questioned, a construction inquiry has been run. A request has been filed with the head of the Ukhta administration to take steps to eliminate violation of law.

The investigators have enough evidence, so the criminal case has been forwarded for the indictment to be approved and will then be refered to court.
