Chairman of Investigative Committee holds meeting in St. Petersburg

Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has arrived in Saint Petersburg with a working visit to hold a meeting with senior officials of investigative authorities of Northwestern Federal District.

The meeting was held at the second investigative department (based in Saint Petersburg) of the Directorate of the Investigative Committee. The Chairman heard the reports on the condition of investigative operations of investigators of the Saint Petersburg Directorate, Leningrad Region Office, Northwestern Transport Investigations Office, second department (based of Saint Petersburg) of the Directorate of the Investigative Committee, as well as the progress and results of investigation in a number of complicated cases.

Following the meeting the Chairman gave a number of explicit orders to raise the efficiency of operations of investigative offices and instructions to major investigator.

In addition, during the visit Mr. Bastrykin visited the branch of the Investigative Committee Academy located in Saint Petersburg.
