In Maritime Territory, former Vice-Governor detained on suspicion of office abuse

The Maritime Territory Office of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation into abuse of power by officials of the Maritime Territory Town Building Department and the administration of the Maritime Territory while paying for the construction under a government contract (Part 3 of Article 285 of the RF Penal Code).

Former Vice-Governor who is also the director of the Maritime Territory Town Building Department Oleg Yezhov has been detained on suspicion of the crime

According to investigators, in March 2013, the Maritime Territory Town Building Department and a commercial company concluded a contract for construction of a fire department in Krasnoarmeisky District, Maritime Territory under the program “Provision of settlements in Maritime Territory with fire departments of territorial state-funded facilities of the Maritime Territory fire service”. The work under the government contract was not finished, but from March to December 2013, Yezhov though aware that the general contractor had not finished the work under the contract still signed acceptance certificates and ordered to pay the company over 24.5 million rubles.

The suspect’s flat and former office have been searched and some documents have been confiscated. At the moment, the restraint and charges are expected. The investigation is ongoing.

The crime was revealed vy the officials of the Maritime Territory Office of the Federal Security Service.
