The Altai Territory Office of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation into fraud with providing housing to families with disabled children (Part 3 of Article 159 of the RF Penal Code).

According to investigators, at least six real estates were sold at overstated price under the governmental contracts on provision of housing under the Altai Territory investment program 2016 to be then provided under contracts of social rent to children with disabilities and their families. The actual cost of the flats was less than the average marker cost due to their inadequate operational, functional, technical and quality characteristics.

Altai Territory suffered damage of more than 870,000 rubles.

By now searches have been conducted in the residents of the people involved in the crime, 30 individuals have been questioned and the housing has been examined. The investigators are going to qualify the actions of the certain individuals who committed frauds. The investigation in ongoing.
