Former member of Krasnoyarsk Territory legislative assembly found guilty of fraud

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Krasnoyarsk Territory Office of the Investigative Committee sufficient to convict former member of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Legislative Assembly of the second convocation Vladimir Sedov who was found guilty of crimes under Part 4 of Article 159 of the RF Penal Code (fraud).

The court and investigators have revealed that in December 2015, Sedov learned that there was going to be a check by an inspectorate into construction of Zlatoulochka residential bloc and decuded to fraudulently get from a representative of OOO Zlata, a limited liability company, some money for general patronage in settling the matter. For a reward of 12 million rubles, he offered the businessman to arrange that no further checks would be carried out.

On 4 February 2016, Sedov received 1,100,000 rubles as a part of the stipulated sum. The money was transferred to a bank account of an organization which Sedov had access to via an acquaintance of his.

Sedov pleaded guilty.

The court has sentenced him to 3.5 years to be served in a minimum-security correctional facility and a fine of 200,000 rubles.
