On 13 October 2016, the police got a report that two men were taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds. The Dagestan Office of the Investigative Committee has launched a check.

According to preliminary information, on 13 October 2016, at about 10 PM, a former magistrate shot the two men from a hunting rifle during a conflict they were having near his house in the settlement of Botashyurt, Khasavyurt District. The wounded men were taken to a hospital and are now being treated.

According to requirements of Articles 447 and 448 of the RF Criminal Procedure Code the decision to initiate criminal proceedings shall be taken by the Chairman of the RF Investigative Committee.

At present, the investigators are looking into details of the incident. A procedural decision will be made following the check and after all necessary procedures have been completed.
